How Fast Does Video SEO Work?

Well, it has definitely been a minute since the last post but I have a decent excuse.

My new 500GB hard drive took a nose dive and I'm just now retrieving files from an awesome data recovery company in Clearwater, Fl.

So how fast does Video SEO work? I'm going to just say that I put just a few videos out there into search engine land about 2 and a half weeks ago and I'm seeing page one or two results in all of the search engines.

So here are a few of the results, and remember this is as of 5-19-09(it's only been about 2 weeks or so, not bad huh!), and I'm sure things will change over time, but here is a small list of the first page search engine results I'm seeing in Google as of now:

There are a few more keyword phrases and terms I've noticed first page ranking on but we'll see how long they last.

As for me, I'm off to go pick up my files and move on to the second part of my video seo experiment.

SEO for Video. What is it? Well, the only way to explain it is to have someone show you what it does.

In that case I've created a simple video for video search engine optimization, video seo if you will. The basic idea is to apply seo best practices to video submission and cataloging online.

Sounds simple, right? Well, there are video search engines sprouting up everywhere, all the time. There are separate video file formats to consider. There are video file size restrictions, thumbnail pictures that get better play conversions. How long does someone stay on your video or do the stop and go to another video quickly.

And most important, is the video viral? Will it get passed around and embedded on other web sites.

VSEO, or Video Search Engine Optimization is the next wave to get in front of. Now while it is relatively cheap and most of all BEFORE your competition finds out about it.

If you're thinking of incorporating video search engine marketing into your business marketing mix think about this. Hire a video search engine optimization expert now while the VSEO feild itself is still in it's infancy. Why? Because a video optimization expert is also a search engine optimizer. Video search engine optimization is basically the process of formatting videos online in different file formats for different readers, submitting those videos to the right video sharing and video communities and systematically tagging those videos with all of the most relevant, content rich descriptions and meta information that the search engines love.

The only 2 elements I seem to see missing is the content rich relevant OPTIMIZATION involved in video search engine optimization. Couple that with very few "outside the box" videos and you fall short of VIRAL. Good for those that are creative. Good for those that actually put a bit of "work" into their online marketing.

Bad for those that are spamming.

And I'm beginning to see it everywhere.

How long can a company ride the wave of video spamming before the wheels fall off? Who wants to stick around and find out? I do! At least until the wheels fall off, right?

It seems every few years some new craze hits the online community and is held a secret for as long as possible by those that find out in the beginning. But after a while, more and more people find out about it, it then hits critical mass and the search engine start penalizing everyone that was involved.

The only way to ride a wave is to stay in FRONT of it. If you get in while it is cresting, you'd have to be real good to drop back in on a wave and not wipe out. If you catch it too late you most likely won't even catch it at all. But if you can stay ahead of the curve, now you've got something spectacular.

Guess what? I'm on to something spectacular.

While the rest are just realizing the wave is going to crest, I've already positioned myself right in front of the wave, I'm paddling, I'm pointing in the right direction......JOIN ME, ride the wave of video search engine optimization.

WOW! My 14 yr Old Daughter Can Market Online Better Than 99% Of Internet Marketers

Its past 4am and I just noticed that my 14 yr old daughter has a #3 Google listing with over 93 million competing pages. Not bad for a 14 year old to accomplish in less than 1 week.

If I had to race 93 million avid runners (globally the best) do I think I could come in the top 10? I don't think so.

It used to take me a whole month to do what I can do now without even lifting a finger. Except to sign a check. Marketing implies hard work to me. Being a marketing consultant and search engine marketing consultant to be more specific, I think the search industry is changing and evolving at a rate so fast we can’t even see it anymore.

Question: How can a professional spend hard earned money on a search engine marketing education, only to find out that by the time the text book was printed, before the teacher ever even spoke a word about search marketing in class…EVERYTHING CHANGED?

This is the first ever blog post on my journey to Search Engine Marketing DOMINATION.

This is where I (Elvis Caron) will attempt to publish my findings on DOMINATING search engine results.

What does DOMINATING the search engine results even mean?

Well, for starters, when a potential customer searches for a product or service online they usually find a list of about 10 competing listings on the first page of search engine results pages (SERPS's).

In this case "domination" of the search engines means "TAKING OVER" the results pages so that potential customers only have ONE logical choice when searching for whatever it is they want to buy. This is done by getting your website or company information to be listed for not just one serp's listing but several.
